About Us

Learn who we are and what we are all about

Overview

There are an increasing number of children who must live with families other than their own due to a variety of crisis situations which put their safety in jeopardy. When these children need a safe place to call home, Approachable FFA is there to help. We have over 45 years of combined experience assisting responsible, child-focused adults become successful foster parents. Approachable FFA focuses on clearly understanding a prospective foster family’s background, interests, hobbies, and skills in order to best match foster parents to foster children and effectively build compatible relationships.

A “Hands-On” Approach

We support our foster families with the tools they need to bring stability and nurturing to the children in their care. Our “hands-on” approach towards serving foster parents and children forms the basis of our impressive track record of both short- and long-term placements. Approachable FFA is committed to continued success in placing children in need with compatible, qualified, motivated and Approachable foster parents.

We are a private, non-profit agency in the Central Valley. Children placed with Approachable FFA by County agencies range in age from birth to 21 years old. These children are often the victims of abandonment, child abuse, or severe neglect.

Experienced Staff

Approachable FFA is staffed with experienced Social Workers, Counselors, and Psychologist who strive to ease the pain and trauma for hundreds of children affected by broken homes. We also serve as a support network to our certified foster families and approved resource families by providing training, respite care, support groups and psychological services.

Committed to Partnerships

Approachable FFA is thoroughly committed to building partnerships with County agencies in order to facilitate family involvement as established by law and directed by County agencies. We also work with County agencies to facilitate smooth transitions and reunions of these children with their biological families as deemed appropriate.
